Garden fountains can be lovely additions to a garden. Sometimes your garden needs something more substantial than just another flower or plant - sometimes it needs something like a fountain or sculpture.
However, before you go out and buy your own fountain, be sure to read over the following tips:
- Fountain kit - for the most ease in setting up your water feature, be sure that it comes with a kit, complete with a fountain pump and other accessories.
- Electric or solar - unless you get a solar pump, you are going to need to connect your pump to your electricity. Therefore, be sure to place your fountain where it will be easy to do so. Also, keep your pump as safe as possible by using an earth leakage device that will cut the power if there is ever a short circuit in the power supply.
- Level - cast stone fountains and other such fountains can be quite heavy. Be careful when moving them around. Be sure to place them on a very level surface - you want to be positive that they will not fall over. Another important reason for making sure that heavy garden fountains (and all other fountains, in fact) are level is that the water will look better, and there will be a more even flow of water.
