The right pond décor can make your pond even more beautiful than ever before. It can also make your pond more unique. For the most unique pond decor, consider making your own. Here are some basic ideas to get you started:

Pond pumps - there is a lot that you can do with a pond pump. You can use one to create your own pond spitter or fountain or waterfall. Note: be careful when drilling necessary holes in potential pond spitters.
Candles - you do not have to invest in expensive pond lights to set a great evening pond ambiance. If you are having guests over, light and place a floating candles on your pond. Be sure to remove them once the festivities are over.
Statues - you do not have to get special "pond statues" for your pond. You can pick out any favorite statue and place it nearby or directly in your pond (be aware, though, of what the statue is made of if you are going to place it in a fish pond - you do not want to harm the fish).
Thrift stores - thrift stores, antique shops, flea markets, and yard sales are great places to look for items of pond decor. Do not be afraid to take something that is clearly not made for pond-use and turn it into an interesting and unique piece of garden decor. Old farm equipment, kitchenware, and other items can make very interesting decorations. Create a mosaic statue with broken china.
Mirrors, china, and more - especially if you have a shallow pond, mirrors, broken china, and colorful glass (not sharp glass!) can make very interesting pond bottoms. Play around with the different effects you can create.
Do not be afraid to create your own pond decor. You may very well be happily surprised with the results. Also, it is great to know that you had a direct hand in making your pond environment more beautiful.
