Preformed
pond liners make installing a pond so easy. Just follow
these simple steps:
- Mark it - place the liner on the ground above where you plan to
place it. Use chalk or even a piece of string to outline the pond
on the ground, slightly larger than its shape (be sure to outline
the upper edge. Do not, however, turn the liner upside down to mark
it unless it is symmetrical - doing so would give you the mirror image
of it).
- Dig - dig down an inch deeper than the marginal shelf. Make sure
the hole is level.
- Dig some more - mark the bottom of the liner (place it in the hole
you have started and just go around the bottom edge of it with a stick),
and dig that depth one inch greater.
- Sand it - place sand in the bottom of the hole. Old carpet or fabric
can be good, as well.
- Place the liner in the hole - make sure it is level and firm and
that the marginal shelves are supported.
- Fill with water - this will settle it into the sand better. As it
is filling, fill in the gap between the soil and the liner with sand.
Leave it full for a day before you start edging. Make sure it remains
level, but if it shifts you can build up sand support wherever it
has sunk.
Our preformed pond liners are durable and easy to install. Anyone
can add a pond to his or her backyard when he or she has access to
great preformed pond liners, like the ones that we have to offer here
at Pond Depot.
