How
do UV
clarifiers work? The clarifier emits UV light which kills
micro-organisms and stops algae blooms - it alters the RNA or DNA
or algae cells, parasites, and bad bacteria, etc.
Many filters come with UV clarifiers built in, but you
can always add one on if yours does not already have one. Make sure
that if you add one, you place it after the filter. It is very important
that the water is filtered first; otherwise debris can block the UV
light from parts of the water.
If you do have a UV clarifier already, but you find
that you are still experiencing rapid algae growth, there is a chance
that the pond water is being pumped through the filter too quickly.
The light (radiation) must have time to penetrate the cell wall for
it to be effective.
UV clarifiers are important to add to ponds. Without
UV clarifiers, you can expect much more algae and much greener water;
and while green is a beautiful color, it is not the color of the healthiest
pond!
You will quickly find, once you use one of our UV clarifiers,
how much a simple device really can help control green water and string
algae. You especially want to make sure that you have one of our UV
clarifiers if you have a koi pond -- what is the point of having beautiful
koi in your pond if you can never even see them through all of the
algae?
Our UV clarifiers really work! Make sure that you keep your pond
as healthy and as beautiful as possible. Make sure that you use our
UV clarifiers and other pond products.
