Water gardens add both visual and auditory beauty to your outdoor environment. There are few things that equal the peacefulness of sitting next to your own water garden, enjoying the beautiful world.

Just as with land gardens, water gardens must be cultivated and taken care of. You must think of your overall landscape. You must consider not just which plants (and fish and fountains, etc.) that you want to have, but where you want to place them.

A good water garden is not made up of just water - it might include plants, rocks, fish, statues, fountains, and other elements.

When shopping for plants, consider ones for the shallows of the water feature, floating plants, and even which land plants you want to have surrounding the water. It is very important to consider the surrounding area, not just the water. Think about whether or not there is an overhanging tree and how that might affect not just the aesthetics of your water garden, but its health as well.
